JW: You grew up the child of two legendary musicians. Was it as glamorous as people might imagine?
JW: You grew up the child of two legendary musicians. Was it as glamorous as people might imagine?
Chynna: Absolutely not. I had no real conception of the fact that my parents were in a rock band. By the time I was born, my mom and dad had already disbanded. My mother was already pursuing her acting career by the time I was two years old. Although she made a great living as an actress, she didn't gain real recognition and fame until I was out of the house. So, for me, her stardom really began after high school. It's fascinating to know she was a legendary singer by the time I was born. However, I have no recollection of any such luxury.

Chynna: I really like to have an eclectic wardrobe, but I don’t think it’s due to being particularly stylish; rather, I can’t settle on one look that I love. In my closet, you’ll find a mix of items: a string of pearls, cashmere sweaters, faux animal-print belts paired with faded jeans, and Johnny Was dresses alongside leather pants.

JW: How did it feel modeling Johnny Was' spring collection with your daughters?
JW: How did it feel modeling Johnny Was' spring collection with your daughters?
Chynna: Seeing the girls interact and have so much fun trying on the different outfits was both adorable and memorable. I particularly loved the setup where I was playing guitar, and the girls were casually standing behind me. It made me wish we had more moments like that—casually jamming together. Both of my daughters have beautiful voices and a keen sense for good music, along with the gift of songwriting in their blood!

Chynna: The five of us truly appreciate the moments we get to spend together, whether it's a beach walk, a lovely casual dinner, or just sitting around in the kitchen catching up. As empty nesters, we don't have as many opportunities for those moments as we used to, so we cherish even the simplest forms of connection as a family.

Chynna: There is an ease and a flow to the Johnny Was aesthetic. This speaks to something that I value very much in life. One of my greatest desires is to walk through life with grace and ease. The design of the clothes have such nuanced detail, this makes every piece unique and special.
